CalFree vs Calendly

Calendly is the default answer to "send me a link", and it is a genuinely good product. The question is whether you need what you are paying for.

The honest answer. If you run a sales team that needs collective events, Salesforce routing and an admin console, pay Calendly and don't look back. If you are one person who wants more than one event type, an API and an agent that can book on your behalf, Calendly asks you to pay for the first and hands you a hosted-only MCP server for the third.

Both directions

What each one is better at

Where Calendly is better

  • Deeper team scheduling: collective events, managed event types and organisation-wide admin.
  • A large integration catalogue, plus Salesforce and HubSpot routing on higher tiers.
  • Takes payment for a booking through Stripe and PayPal.
  • Native mobile apps and a browser extension.
  • SSO, SAML and the compliance paperwork an enterprise buyer asks for.

Where CalFree is better

  • Unlimited event types without paying, instead of exactly one.
  • An MCP server authenticated with an API key you create and revoke.
  • The REST API and OpenAPI document are on the free plan.

Switching

Moving from Calendly

There is no importer. Your event types are a title, a length, a location and a set of questions, so recreating three or four of them takes about ten minutes. Point your old Calendly link's audience at the new one and keep both live until the last booked meeting has happened.
