CalFree vs Cal.com

Cal.com is the closest thing to CalFree in spirit, and much larger. It is also the comparison where being precise matters most, because the two products are aimed at different sizes of problem.

The honest answer. Cal.com does far more than CalFree: organisations, collective events, richer routing forms, workflows, an app marketplace and a phone agent. If you need any of it, use Cal.com. CalFree is the smaller, sharper choice for one host or a small team who want the entire thing — booking page, REST API and agent surface — with unlimited event types and bookings on every plan.

Both directions

What each one is better at

Where Cal.com is better

  • Organisations, collective events, richer routing forms and workflow automation.
  • A large app marketplace, including video, CRM and payment apps.
  • Cal.ai, a phone agent that answers and books calls.
  • A far bigger community, more integrations and more eyes on the code.

Where CalFree is better

  • The MCP server is stateless streamable HTTP at /mcp, so an agent points at a URL with a bearer token rather than running a local stdio process.
  • Nothing to set up or run: a hosted service with a free plan, and no per-seat price unless you add a team.

Switching

Moving from Cal.com

There is no importer, so the move is a matter of recreating your event types and repointing the link. CalFree has teams with round-robin, but no organisations, so a Cal.com organisation does not have an equivalent here.
